The Dreaded Blogger Meme!

I told you in yesterday's post I'd been tagged.
Yeppers, li'l ol' me! I also told you I would name the
culprit today, so here goes:

It's Wonder! Yes, Wonder, from W for Wonder
tagged me, for the Musical Memories meme (created
by Loz @ Sunrays and Saturdays). THEN! she
called me "mean" and stuck her tongue out at me, in
my post's comments section! I was absolutely verklempt!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket What?!

I know! Go figure, huh?! *mischievous giggle*

Ok, I've listed five songs. That's enough. If I listed
more than five, it would take me years to finish this
post. My songs are:

1. Waiting for You
by Seal - ("Seal IV")

From 1999 - 2005 I was fortunate enough to be a
member of the best (imo) Forum/Chatroom groups
online, at Seal.com. Seal's fans from all over the
world came together, in one online venue: we laughed,
played, and some traveled together worldwide, to see
Seal in concert. We were one big happy cyber-family.
Even the trolls had fun!

2. All Behind Me
by Acumen - ("Out of Balance")

This is a song from a somewhat obscure Indy band
out of Cincinnati OH. It marked a major turning
point in my life. Let's just say, some accidents
can turn out to be blessings disguise. *wink*

3. One
by Alanis Morrisette - ("Supposed Former Infatuation
Junkie"
)

LOVE!!! LOVE!! LOVE!! I love the lyrics, vocals, and her
phrasing. The lyrics are a mirror for me, and remind
me that life is not always about me.

4. Remind Me
by Royksopp - ("The Understanding")

It's the song from the Geico commercial, where the
caveman is in the airport, on his way to his gate,
sees the Geico sign with another caveman's picture,
and you know the rest (if you've seen it).

This is that sweet jazz flavored song playing in the
background. LOVE IT! The band is from Norway,
and unfortunately the CD is not available here in the
States, at least I don't think it is. I've looked for
it, but haven't found it.

I hear this song, and I'm off to "another place in time".

5. Sahara
by Anggun - ("Snow on the Sahara" CD)

Ok, I'm tired of typing meme thing. I wanna go play.
BUT! I will say this is another song that sends me
riding on trade winds. And the more I think about it,
the more I realize, I'm long overdue for a trip! :

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketSeee! Now, that wasn't so bad, was it?

No, not at all, but if I do another one, it
will be one I don't have to think about, with
very SHORT answers. LOL!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are the rules, for those who want to play:
1. Name between 5 & 10 songs that have made an
impact on your life and why.
2.Write a post about it, with a link back to me
(Celebrate Life ~ Daily), and the creator of this
meme, Loz> (Sunrays & Saturdays).
3. Tag five more people.
4. I will post links to those posts, of the first
five bloggers who decide to play. Leave your link
URL in the comment section.
Goodbye Stargate SG-1!
Tonight is the series finale of Stargate SG-1.
I know that may not mean anything to some of
you, if not most of you, but for me it's a sad,
sad day.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket *sniffle* Me too!
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketWaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
like there's hope in Sci-Fi ville after all! Yippee!
Ok, then I'll use this opportunity to say "Thank you",
to the Stargate SG-1 writers, producers, directors,
and last, but definitely NOT least, the actors, for
giving your fans the best ride through the universe
ever!
GOODBYE, STARGATE SG-1.
1408: Ah Don't Think So!
I just saw a very interesting trailer for the upcoming
movie 1408, based on the short story by Stephen King,
starring:
John Cusack, who I love and would seriously
consider pursuing an ongoing, intense, personal
relationship with, if it weren't for the fact he &
I live in totally different dimensions of time and
space (which judging from what happens to his
character in the movie might not be such a bad
thing).
AND! the ever yummy Samuel L. Jackson, who
I'd definitely recruit to take Cusack's place as my
significant other, except he's married - dang it!
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Would you PLEEEEASE get on with this post?!!
Anyway...
In the movie trailer, Sam Jackson's character tries
to explain to Cusack's character that there have been
56 people to die mysteriously in room 1408, all within
an hour after they entered the room.
56 people!!
Cusack's character responds with something remark-
ably absurd (imo), informs Jackson he's going into
the room regardless. THAT'S! when I yelled at the TV:
"You mean to tell me someone in a position of
authority (who obviously knows the situation better
than you, who's lived through, witnessed, & possibly
has documented evidence that 56 people disappeared
within an hour after entering a room YOU plan to visit,
stay in and/or investigate) tells you about horrible
events that happened in Room (1408), and YOU decide to
stay in the frickin' room ANYWAY?!
AHHHHHH DON'T THINK SO!!"
Good thing no one else was home at the time.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketRight. Now, ask her if she's going to see the movie.
It's Monday: The Message Is Clear!
Yeah, yeah. I know. It's Monday,
this post is late, and your point is...?
After Friday's post, you're probably waiting
for something even more enlightening, profound,
something that will give meaning to an otherwise
semi-robotic existence: a word, a sentence, or
perhaps a well constructed paragraph designed to
erase the oppressive veil of sameness that
secretly tries to envelop your daily life and
activities.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Huh?!! What the...! Are you eating sugar again?
I only have ten little words to offer on this most
mundane of all mundane days. It won't matter what
day or time you happen to read this, the message
is clear and still applies:
TURN OFF THAT STUPID MACHINE!
GO OUTSIDE. MEET PEOPLE. PLAY!
Ok, I'm outie. Now where'd I put those Hershey's Kisses?!!
Free Will
Lately, it seems a lot folk in the media are speaking
out against religion, or questioning belief in God,etc.
And! heaven forbid anyone even remotely suggest any-
thing that sounds like it might have something to do
with Christianity!
Then those same wonderful people usually ramble on,
ad infinitum, about having "free will", as though it
were a badge of honor received as justification for
their self-indulgent, stress-filled life choices.
When I find myself in a conversation like that, I
quietly chuckle to myself, and ask the person:
Really? Free will, you say? Yeah, and how's that
workin' out for ya?
BIL Thursday: MOTAS
This week's blog is not a blog, but an online game site
called The Mystery of Time and Space, or MOTAS,
as everyone who's played the game eventually calls it.
(However, the MOTAS site recently added a blog, and
that's good enough for me!)
Let me just say: I abso-frickin-lutely LOVE this game!
I was introduced to MOTAS a couple years ago, by an
online friend, who failed to warn me I could possibly
lose precious hours of sleep, days, or would dang near
come to blows with my computer screen out of deter-
mined frustration and delight.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Delight?!
Yes, delight. I'll explain:
I'm not a traditional gamer, therefore games with the
blood-guts-gore, flash, lights, bells, bangs, and whistles
don't appeal to me at all. Nope! not one little bit! But!
I love the "point-n-click"-adventure-escape games, which
challenge me mentally, and have the potential to make me
throw my computer out the window.
MOTAS is one of those games. FreeGamesNews.com
said it best:
"Considered as one of the first “Escape the room” game,
MOTAS remains today one of the most-ever-played games
of its category, thanks to the several releases throughout
the past four years. With nice graphics and a relaxing
soundtrack, MOTAS is just perfect for a gloomy rainy day."
Amen on the soundtrack! That's the delightful part (imo).
Some days, I'd find myself returning to the game, just to
hear the music. And now, I see there are new levels to play!
I haven't played since completing Level 12. Ya' may not hear
from me for a while! * just kidding!*
It's Monday: We Have Met the Enemy!
It's Monday. It's hot. I want ice cream!!
I don't feel like writing anything substantial,
significant, inspiring, humorous, daunting,
promotional, or noble.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Um... I don't mean to be rude, but have you
ever?
Hush!
Moving on...
I WILL share with you a site my groovy new online
buddy, Wonder, discovered recently (click link below),
and what my ever acutely aware friend, Dennis, pointed
out to me about it, saying:
"We have met the enemy, and he is bunnies!"
and international news media announcement(s)regarding
Paris Hilton's return to an LA County jail in Los Angeles,
BIL Thursday: Corporate-Alien Blog
I've been a fan of this week's BILT (Blogs I Like Thursday)
blog, for quite some time now, mainly due to the fear-
lessness and honesty of it's author, George Lunt.
Mr. Lunt gives the reason, for the creation of his blog,
on his profile:
"For many years I've worked for different US
corporations. I’ve noticed how the rise of global
enterprises has penetrated our lives with an insidious
bureaucracy that is threatening our concept of self-
worth and individuality.
I've started this blog and my website to express the
fact that we're all individuals and not just numbers
in some government or corporate database."
Corporate-Alien Blog shines an interesting spotlight on
the subtle machinations of global corporate enterprise,
its seduction of and effect on every man, woman, child
on the planet, and the draconian mindset behind it all.
At least, that's my take on it. *smile* You may come away
with a different perspective, but you'll never know until
you visit:
One Hundredth Post!
Wow! It's hard to believe: This is my 100th post!
So, in honor or this auspicious occasion, I
thought I would take this opportunity to re-
visit, some of the more socially significant
posts I've written over the last year, or so.
NAAAAAH! THAT'LL TAKE TOO LONG!
What? I'm not stayin' inside on a day like
this; I'm goin' outside for some fresh air,
sunshine, chocolate cake and champagne! *hee hee*
But, before I go, I just want to say, "Thank
you", to all the wonderful folk who've taken
time to visit, read, or comment on these 100
posts.
I've met some really nice folk, and have made
some great cyber-friends (you know who you are).
So, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
C'ya tomorrow!
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket I hear ya', babe, fo' shizzle on the champizzle!
Recent Posts & Links Exchange Requests
I have had several wonderful people contact me recently,
to ask me to write a post about their blog(s) in exchange
for links, etc. While I am flattered, I thought I would post
my answer and explanation here, since this is becoming
an increasingly common request lately:
My answer is: No .
If you ask me to write a post about your blog, I won't
do it. The blogs I write about (if any) are the ones I visit &
discover on my own - blogs (and causes) I truly WANT to
share with my readers and friends.
(Read 2nd paragraph of my post "Blogs I Like" Thursdays)
I publish this blog because I ENJOY it, not turn it into some
kind of blog promotion vehicle. I'm sorry if I've given that
impression.
Fact is: I could care LESS about exchanging links. If someone
does happen to link to my blog, due to one of my posts, it's
because THEY want to, not because I've asked or expected it
of them.
Hope this helps.
machine?!
