Oh, It's Definitely ON Now!

I was given a squirt gun earlier this week.
Yep! That's right, a "squirt gun".
My neighbor has a two-year old, and decided
to get us all squirt guns to play with.

Hey! I'm always game for good clean fun,
especially if it involves water. :D

Before we knew it, other neighbors were peeking
out windows, then stepping outdoors to join the
fun, and for several evenings now, we've had folks
of all ages, leave their TV's, computers, and semi-
isolation to come outside and play.

The kids are shocked! They didn't know the adults
had it in 'em. HA!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket You know she's gonna buy a SuperSoaker,
don't you?

Oh yeah! It's definitely ON now! :D
It's amazing what a simple little toy can do.

Oops! gotta run. Time to play!

It's Monday: Pizza Delivery Girl

G'day Mates! (Love that greeting! :D)
On this auspicious Monday, I thought I would
share a hilarious, albeit true, post I found on
Best of Craigslist entitled:

From Your Pizza Delivery Girl

However, I must warn the easily offended that the
author of the post uses a few colorful expletives
throughout to drive home her point and frustration.

Enjoy, and remember: Tip your pizza delivery
person well. Your pizza is in their hands. ;)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Did she say "auspicious Monday"?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Yeah. Scary ain't it.

Peeking In

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Uhhh... Nope, don't see any!

Ok. Good! Thanks.

OH! Hi! Um, don't mind me. I'm just peeking
in to see if there are anymore blog awards waiting
to pounce on me.

Blogging the last few days has been quite interesting
for me, especially after receiving two blog awards
back-to-back. While I am greatly appreciative of the
gesture, acknowledgement and the camaraderie these
awards encourage, it's still a little disconcerting.

However, it looks like things are quiet once again, on
the ol'blog front for now. So, I'm gonna say "Whew!",
wipe my forehead, and slip quietly out the cyber-
door. *Shhhhhhhhh!*

Later!
C'ya in a couple :D

Edit 07/20/07: I wrote "C'ya in a couple"
(meaning days). Correction: Read that line as:
"C'ya Monday! Have a great weekend!" LOL!

It's Monday: Another Award?

Yep, it's that most wonderful day of the week! I just love it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket You're eatin' chocolate again, aren't ya?

Uhhh yeah, but that's beside the point, Motie face.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket You've got one more time to call me "Motie face".

Whatcha gonna do? Byte me?!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

That's what I thought! Aaaanyway...

Instead of my usual half awake grumbling about this
day, I logged in, checked my comments, and found
another blogger award waiting for me, from Worldman.

Dear sweet loveable Worldman, has awarded me the
Power of Schmooze Award created by Mike of
ThingsByMike.com

What is a "schmooze" award?

Mike explained it:

"Schmoozing as defined by Dictonary.com is the ability
“to converse casually, especially in order to gain an ad-
vantage or make a social connection.” When it comes to
blogging, schmoozing is your ticket to making new friends,
getting yourself noticed and building a reputation. Some
bloggers are gifted with the ability to effectively schmooze
and others not so much."

With this award, I get to honor 5 other bloggers, who fit the
definition of a "schmoozer". I only have two in mind at this
time. It takes time to develop "honest" blogger relationships.
After a while, you can pretty much sense who's real and who
isn't.

My choices for this award are:

Wonder: Because she is definitely one of the coolest bloggers,
I've met so far. Wonder always stops by to "schmooze" or sling
memes at me. *giggle snort snort*

BHB: The second on the chill schmoozer I've met is BHB.
She never fails to stop by with a friendly comment or two, even
when she took time off from blogging. How cool is that?!!

The third blogger I would have chosen today is Worldman, but
he presented me with this award and is a Power Schmooze
Award
winner already, so that wouldn't work. :D

Yep! These three bloggers are the epitome of the definition of
a "schmoozer". They have, in recent days, made blogging even
more fun for me. I'm sure there are others out there, but I
have yet to meet and consistently interact with them.

So, HUGE hugs to the three of you, and Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you!

P.S. I will announce my remaining 3 choices for the Power of Schmooze Award
sometime in the future, as I meet and interact with more bloggers I feel fit the
definitition of "schmooze":D

Surprise: I'm a "Rockin' Girl Blogger"!

I have received my first blogger award, which came as a
complete surprise to me, left me blushing (sorta), and
slightly embarrassed enough to hide my head inside my
T-shirt for a few minutes.

It appears now I am officially considered a:

Wonder, of W for Wonder, honored me along with 4
more of her Rockin' Girl Blogger honorees. Now, I'm
to announce my picks for this prestigious blogger award:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket This almost sounds like another blogger meme thingy?

Well not according to Roberta Ferguson, creator of the
award. So, HUSH! Don't *F* up my award fantasy!!

Moving on...

*Ahem!*

First, I'd like to thank Wonder, the Blogger Academy,
Blogger Union Local No. 732, my blogger fans, friends,
family, neighbors, the mailman, my banker, and last-
but-not-least, my feral cat (Boo), for making this award
possible. I wouldn't be here tonight without all your
love and support! *bows humbly*

In turn, I now present this award to the following (imo)
Rockin' Girl Bloggers, who deserve this award far more
than I do:

My award honorees are:

Jenn of A Bookseller's Tale:
This is the life and times of the independent
online Bookseller of Brooklyn.

Gerri of Absolutely True:
Bringing you today's celebrity news and gossip,
weird and bizarre news stories and fun videos,
plus commentary from the news junkies

BHB of Bluehappybunny Rantings
Destination - Weight Loss, Happiness, World
Peace (what.... you think that's too much???)

Cybele May of Candy Blog:
A blog about candy, things made with sugar,
things made with chocolate, you get the idea ...

Gina of Evolution of Gina:
Leader of the people in my mind (most of the
time, anyway...)

Congratulations, Ladies! Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

No Alarm Clocks Here!

It's taking longer than I thought to get back into the
usual blog routine I don't have.

We had a wonderful surprise thunderstorm early
this morning - at least, it was a surprise to me - with
a great cleansing rain. The air felt and smelled clean
and fresh again, which encouraged me to sleep well
past my usual wake up time.

What?! Didn't I set my alarm clock, you ask? Nope!

Absolutely no alarms clocks here. I learned long ago,
alarm clocks, and all they represent, are detrimental
to maintaining my internally peaceful existence on
this planet. Watches are a definite no-no too!

I've never quite understood man's concept of time,
or his system of weights and measures, but that's
a whole 'nother issue, which I won't go into here.

Anywho...

I'm gonna go enjoy the rest of my day, week. I Hope
you'll take time to enjoy yours too!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket See! That's why I like that girl! She knows how
to stop and smell the roses.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Ya sure it's not the whole garden?

It's Monday: The Roswell UFO Festival is Over!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yep. It's that day of the week once again -
my favorite. *NOT!*

There is one thing about today that makes me want
to shout from the rooftops:

It's over! The Roswell UFO Festival is over!!
The tourists have left, or are leaving, and are taking all
that crazy energy and heat with 'em! HALLELUJAH!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Look! I'm dancin'! Can ya see me? I'm daaaancin!

Oh yeah, before I forget... I thought the following
article was extremely interesting, in an "it-doesn't-
really-surprise-me" kinda way:

Alien Nation
Believers and skeptics converge at two
UFO Festivals in a small New Mexico town.

I wrote a post last year entitled "War of the Worlds"
about a similar incident, with a couple of the same town
groups fighting for the right to hold their celebrations
at the same time, saying one would take away from the
other, blah, blah,blah...

This year, it's 2 town UFO groups/committees (whatever)
with supposedly different motivations why the one cannot
be connected to, advertised with, or considered part of
the other. Yeah, right! It's all a bunch of cow-cookies!

What's that parable about "A house divided against itself..."?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Cow-cookies?!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket MAN! Gotta love this town!!

Roswell UFO Festival Report: Not!

I'm sorry to report that my excursion into
the fray of the Roswell UFO Festival lasted
all of 40-55 minutes: 20 minutes to get down-
town (into the thick of things), 5 minutes to
realize I really didn't want to be there after
all, and 30 minutes to turn around, amidst the
tourists/traffic hoopla, and go home.

I had hoped, since it was the 60th anniversary
(blah, blah...), to go, hang out, have fun, laugh
at, and enjoy the tourists. I usually don't go, as
I've said before, and thought I would make an
exception this year. But...

Nope! That's it for me folks! The energy in
this town, especially downtown around all the
festivities, is just to erratic and strange right
now.

If you don't live here year round, or you're
not sensitive to subtleties like that, then you
probably won't understand what I mean. And,
unfortunately, there is no good way I know of
to explain it to you.

Other folk/friends I know, who live here & don't
participate in these events either, feel the
"strangeness" too, and we all agree, it's not a
good feeling. You'd be surprised at the number
of locals who stay away from the Roswell UFO
Festival.

Now, don't get me wrong. Tourists who come to
the Roswell UFO Festival looking for more in depth
information about the Roswell crash, UFOs, extra-
terrestrials, out of curiosity, or looking for a
little otherworldly fun, probably wouldn't notice
anything one way or the other.

In fact, they (festival visitors/tourists) usually get
what they come for (meeting/seminars/talks with
some of the world's foremost ufologists, scientists, ex-
military, authorities) and if they don't, they will have
earned bragging rights to tell their friends and family
they've been to Roswell.

Great for them. But! I've been saying it for years, and
I'll say it again this year too: "Be careful what you look
for, you just may find it."

The Roswell UFO Festival ends Sunday July 8th, 2007.
Honestly, I'll be glad when it's over.

That's all I have to report. Naaa noo. Naaa noo!

P.S. Note to BHB: Sorry, no festival pics to post.
I'll figure out a way to make it up to ya', after everything
dies down around here. :D

It's Monday: Roswell UFO Festival Begins

Yes, it's Monday, and it's going to be a very interesting,
very strange week; interesting in the sense that this week
marks the 60th anniversary of the UFO crash near here
(Roswell, NM).

So, ya' know what THAT means, don't ya? *shudder* It's
time for that li'l festival we (locals) run from year after
year:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Yeppers! It's that time of year folks, and - believe me -
the UFO enthusiasts and curiosity seekers have been
flooding this place since last week.

ALL the hotels and motels have been booked for months!
They are turning people away by the droves, sending them
to other towns nearby; there is absolutely NO rooms avail-
able here this week!

In addition, Wednesday is Independence Day (4th of July),
out-of-town family members will be visiting, which adds
to the tourist numbers, which means there will be increased
traffic, no good parking spaces, and no food, water, or air.
Ok, maybe not the last three, but certainly no parking spaces.

No alien in his right mind would be here this week. They don't
do festivals. Flyby's, yes. Festivals, no. There's nothing in it
for them. However, they do love to see humans make complete
and utter fools of themselves, so I guess there may be a few in
attendance, but you'd never know it. Aliens are extremely clever
at disguise.

I usually stay away from all this UFO hoopla, but I may have
to get my old disguise out of the closet for this one. Like I
said, this week is going to be very interesting, and with all
that's happening , I most assuredly will not be posting as often
as I have recently, but will definitely post when I can.

So, until next time: Naa noo naa noo!
