Unite In Acts of Kindness

Well, my favie, BlogCatalog, is at it again! :D
They seem to come up with some of the coolest blogging
events, where bloggers blog, socialize online with other
bloggers, and give back to the community at the same time.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Heaven help us if they ever give 'em a chatroom.

Yeah, right. Now, hush! *sigh*

Moving on...

So, I thought I'd better pop in here and share this
with ya' now, before I get sidetracked with other things.

As stated on the BC website:

"On December 17th, Bloggers will Unite in Acts of Kindness

Fall Cancelled After 3 Billion Seasons!

Oh! NOW I understand why it's 80 degrees here,
in the middle of November! Fine by me! *giggle snort*

WASHINGTON, DC— Fall, the long-running series of
shorter days and cooler nights, was canceled earlier
this week after nearly 3 billion seasons on Earth, sources
reported Tuesday.

The classic period of the year, which once occupied a
coveted slot between summer and winter, will be replaced
by new, stifling humidity levels, near- constant sunshine,
and almost no precipitation for months.

"As much as we'd like to see it stay, fall will not be
returning for another season," National Weather Service
president John Hayes announced during a muggy press
conference Nov. 6. "Fall had a great run, but sadly, times
have changed."

It's Monday: Ever See A Snowball Dance?

Well, a reckon it's time for me to get back
into the regular swing o' things!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Yeah, right. Like THAT'S gonna happen.

Ok, ok, I mean regular for me, smart...
As I was saying, I found this little cutie, while
surfing the web today and wanted to share it. Many
of you may have seen him YouTube, but I just couldn't
pass him up, especially not after reading his story:

MAY I HAVE THIS DANCE

"Snowball is a medium sulphur crested Eleanora cockatoo
and he loves to dance and sing. He loves the Back Street
Boys. No one taught Snowball to dance...he just heard
this song and suddenly felt like dancing..."

It's Monday: I'm NOT a Consumer!

Hi! Hi!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Well, it's about time!!

Yep. I'm here, still happily surfing the ol' Zuvuya.
However, I've had something on my mind that's
been bugging me for the last week or so, and
I've decided to quickly pop in and vent a bit.

Here goes:

Do you remember when corporations/businesses/
stores/whatever called the people who bought
from them, or used their services, "customers"?

Customers were valued patrons. Customers were
always right, in the eyes of the business owner.
Customers were considered "living pieces of gold"
who had the power to make or break a company,
because without "customers" there would be no
company. It hasn't been that long ago.

Then one day, the dark geniuses in Corporateville -
or was it Ad-Marketland - stole the keys to the
common language (semantics), cast a spell(ing),
and virtually erased all knowledge of what it meant
to be a "customer".

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket*gasp* How?!!

Customer - a once revered term - was subtly replaced
by the more insidious word "consumer", and as most
wise folk know, behavior follows name. Once you name
something, it takes on the attributes/vibes/behaviors of
the name given to it. (Ex: road rage)

Soon, what began with a proud nation of respected and
valued customers, grew exponentially into a ravenous
world population of consumers, gobbling up almost
anything in sight, even the air they breathe.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketOoh! Ooh! Kinda like PacMan?!

Yep!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Nooooo!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Ok, so what can they do now?

Don't know. Looks like folks gonna have to wake up
and not let the corporations/ad-men define who or
what they are. I'M NOT A CONSUMER!

If not, Mother Nature will decidedly (violently)wipe
the slate clean, once again. It's not the first time,
ya' know.
