Inauguration Thoughts

It’s a beautiful 73 degrees today, and the whole
world is still enthralled with yesterday’s inauguration.
The atmosphere is one filled with hope and celebration.

I’ve spent most of the day at my favorite coffee shop,
and have had several folks profoundly express their joy
at the promise of a “new day”, “new era” for this country
and the world. I offer a knowing smile to acknowledge
their enthusiasm, while inwardly continuing to trust in a
higher authority than Man, or “a man”.

And, with that trust as my constant, I drink my coffee in
peace.
