It's Monday: Sci Fi Channel Changing It's Name

Photobucket

Monday. Unh huh. Whoopee. Yay. Everybody sing.

Photobucket *yawn* My sentiments exactly.

BUT! Looky what I found...

SCI FI Channel is Changing It's Name

"After nearly 17 years on the air, SCI FI Channel in the
United States is changing its name. So what will the new
moniker be? What word will help it stand out in the
competitive cable market, as a channel that is about more
than space ships and time travel? Is it something to do
with “Imagination?” Or “Fantasy?” Or “Possibility?”

Nope. The channel is rebranding itself as..."(cont.)

Photobucket Pleeeease! Say it ain't so!

Photobucket Hey! All you sci-fi and Sci Fi Channel lovers it's
time to revolt!!

This is the STUPIDEST idea I've read so far from NBC
Universal, regarding their seemingly never ending over-
haul of my beloved Sci Fi Channel. I think they're trying
every way they can to ruin it (by showing crappy programs
that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the sci-fi genre)
so they can legitimately (at least in their eyes) shut the
Sci Fi Channel down. But, that's just my own 'geekified'
conspiracy theory at work.:D

In fact, the only channel that seems to be keeping true
to the concept/genre of "sci-fi" is the FOX ("Terminator:
The Sarah Connor Chronicles", "Dollhouse", and "Fringe")
,
which is strange in itself, because FOX has been known to
cancel really great sci-fi shows prematurely.

I never thought I'd say it, but it looks like the FOX network
may become the new home for all things "sci-fi".

Photobucket NOW, THAT'S JUST WRONG!!

Medical Alert: Work Virus (Serious)!

The Centre for Disease Control (CDC) has issued a medical alert
about a highly contagious, potentially dangerous virus that
is transmitted orally, by hand, and even electronically in
some cases. This virus is called Weary Overload Recreational
Killer (WORK).

If you receive WORK from your boss, any of your colleagues,
or anyone else - DO NOT TOUCH IT! This virus will completely
wipe out your private life. If you should come into contact with
WORK or anyone you believe may already have WORK and could
possibly pass it on to you, it is vital that you leave the premises
immediately.

There are several things one can do to stop this potentially
dangerous virus:

Take two good friends to the nearest grocery store and purchase
one or all of the following: The Work Isolating Neutralizing Extract
(WINE), the Complete Health And Mind Purging Anti-Guilt Negating
Enzyme (CHAMPAGNE), or the always effective Bothersome
Employer Elimination Rebooter (BEER). Take the antidote(s)
repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your
system.

Your creativity will thank you later.

Please Note: The Center for Disease Control alerts manager
would have signed this notice but he and his staff are presently
at Benny's Bar & Grill (on 3rd and Main at Lexington) recovering
from this tragic virus.

PhotobucketHey, Babe! It's aaaall good!

I received the above 'notice' in an email from my wonderfully
yet insightful friend Dennis. It's an oldy but a goodie. I tweaked
it a bit more just for fun. Thanks D!

Have a good weekend everybody! :D

It's Monday: Daylight Savings Time

Oh yeah. It's Monday. Daylight Savings Time (DST)is in effect.
I've never really understood DST, and there is only a couple
things I'd like to say to the geniuses, the powers that be, who
so cleverly decided to keep this little time changing institution
going after WWII (at least I think it was WWII):

First:

Aaaggggggggggggggggggggghhhh!.

Second:

There. That should do it!

Cancun, Mexico made me homesick

It seemed the focus was constantly on alcohol and partying. It felt forced. I like to vacation at my own pace, not forced into tourist driven chaos, and drama. It was just not laid back enough for me.

This post was made using the new service at Plinky.com.
I wanted to try it. It's kinda like Twitter for bloggers.
So far, I like it! :D

The only issue I have is, I need to get the hang of adding/
editing the Plinky prompt answers before sharing them on the
blog. Why? Because my trip to Cancun happened several years
ago, but my answer to the question makes it seem like I've just
returned. NOPE! I didn't.:D

Anywho, I'm sure I'll get the hang of this eventually. I think
Plinky.com will be a great help on those days when the blogging
inspiration seems to be non-existant.

Try it! You might like it too!:D

Photobucket Oh joy. She's found another cyber-toy to play with.

Blogrolling Links 2: Aw Man! Ads!

Well, the BlogRolling.com (BRC) site has launched
it's new site but seems to have a few glitches still
to be worked out: The side links are not working yet,
and now I see what the folks at BRC were talking
about when they said there will be text ads at the
top of each blog when using the blogrolling links.

Photobucket Oh, oh! Here we go...

As you may know, I am not a fan of paid ads, especially
on this blog. Dont' get me wrong; I'm not opposed to folks
making money from their gadgets, widgets, or badongadongs.

Side note: I wholeheartedly wish BRC endless financial
prosperity in the days/months/years to come. They deserve
it, it's a great li'l timesaving feature they've developed.

BUT! I also reserve the right not to use said gadgets,
widgets, and badongawhatsits. Besides that, I'm just not
ready to pay 20.00 a year to keep ads from appearing atop
your various blogs when folks follow the BRC links.

Am I cheap? Nope! Ahhhh jus' don' wanna do it! :D

So, in the coming days I will be weeding out my side links,
('cleaning house' so to speak), and will no longer
use the BRC gadget thingy. I think the Blogger link feature
will work just as well, hopefully. If not, I'll find something
else. :D

It's sad. I really loved the convenience, but there are too
many frickin' ads/commercials in the world as it is. *growl*

PhotobucketCrap! Now she's done it!

Photobucket Oh yeah. Saw that one comin' a mile away.
