It's Monday: District 9

Took a li'l movie break this afternoon. Love the matinee;
there's hardly ever anyone there, so I pretty much have
the whole theater to myself! :D

I went to see "District 9".

EXCELLENT movie, BUT! visually and violently provocative.
My attention stayed glued to the screen, while my emotions
were constantly tossed to and fro. After it was over, I
needed to come home and rest. *LOL!*

The special effects were seamless, and I was thrilled about
that, because there is nothing that can irritate me more
than to spend money on a supposedly great sci-fi movie only
to find shoddy special effects.

Anywho...

here is an excellent review from Wired.com:

The 3/50 Project

I discovered this cause on "Thinking Out Loud", a wonderful
blog I just read and decided to 'follow'.

The 3/50 Project was started by Cindy Baker in support
of our nation's local small businesses, which seem to have
gotten the short end of the stick in the recent & ever ongoing
economic charade.

For more information on the project and how you can become
involved, click on the link above or image below:

Photobucket Hmmm... I like it!

It's Monday: A Seagull Walks Into A Store...

Note: Got this little cutie in my email, and thought
I would share it. Thanks, Chaz! ~~ LS

"A seagull in Manistee,Mi has developed the habit of
stealing Doritos from a neighborhood convenience store.

The seagull waits until the Manager isn't looking,
and then walks into the store and grabs a snack-size
bag of cheese Doritos.

Once outside, the bag gets ripped open and shared by
other birds..." Cont.

Patience Thy Name Is Work!

I just read something today that brought me joy,
in a strange Lifey kinda way. It was a conversation
about being "patient", and I thought I would respond to
it here:

The online topic had to do with several folk who seemed
to be struggling with patience ("trying to be patient",etc.),
and how, if they could incorporate that virtue into their
personalities/lives, it would somehow (eventually) equate
to unconditional love.

Photobucket Sounds like a lot of unnecessary work & pressure to me.

Yep! I agree.

Anywho... After I read their posts, I had questions and
decided to post them here in case anyone else is struggling
with the same thing:

My questions are:

1) Do you REALLY desire to be "patient", because it's
based in compassion and sincerely in your heart to do
and be,

OR!

2) Is it what you feel you SHOULD do, in order to
see & accept yourself, and have others see & accept you,
as an enlightened, loving human being?

There's no "trying" to be patient. You either are or you're not.

3) Wouldn't it be easier to learn to be true to, love, and accept
who you are in each moment, even the "impatient" you? That's
where your unconditional love and patience is really needed.
If you can allow THAT for yourself, then you will have it to
express and give to others.

Anything else is a waste of energy. :D

Photobucket Wow, looks like someone got her rest this week.

Photobucket Yeah, either that or she ran out of chocolate again.
